From Susan Aylett : Loire Valley Gites - Le Bouchet

This was a stress free day! Chauffered and fully organised by Jane. We were picked up at about 9.30 in the morning and driven to our first tasting near Chinon, a lovely family run Cave. We tasted several wines, red, rosé and my favourite, sparkling rosé. After making our purchases we set off to a second tasting in the same area, where again a good tasting of several different wines. Then to lunch at a lovely restaurant in the old part of Chinon; a truly delicious meal in a lovely restaurant and with great company! But the day was not finished, we had a third and final tasting at one more Cave and this time we also had a tour of the old wine caves made from the caverns left after the rock was mined for building, don't forget to bring a jacket as they are at a constant temperature of 13°!
Finally, a pleasant drive back through the very pretty countryside - a lovely day, well organised, interesting and made all the more enjoyable by Jane's knowledge and insights into the areas wine producers. Thank you Jane!

From Dawn Cater Le Bourg Remy:

A fantastic day out yesterday doing one of Taste the Loire's wine tours, we visited 2 vineyards in the morning, then went into Chinon for a gorgeous meal then onto our 3rd vineyard. A great day out, tasting some great wines.

This is just one of the many interesting days out you can have while staying at one of our Gites and you don't need to drive as you will be collected and returned to back to your Gite.
